Supporters of Obi stop their actions in Asaba and Calabar

Supporters of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti-Ahmed yesterday shut down major streets in the capital cities of Asaba, Delta State, and Calabar, Cross River State, for hours.

Commercial tricycle drivers in Asaba experienced extreme congestion during the road walk, which started at the Inter Bau Flyover and travelled to Ogbogonogo before returning to the flyover.

It was the second shutdown in Asaba; the "Obidient" Movement, which consists of diverse supporters of the Obi/Datti presidential ticket, held a similar one over the weekend.

They sang and danced to music from different DJs, bringing in more individuals who showed a desire to support LP in the upcoming presidential election.

They further stated that if Obi were to win the presidency, Nigeria and Nigerians would receive a breath of fresh air since they are sick of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Some of the supporters claim that the Obi/Datti ticket is the answer to the problems of insecurity, a lousy economy, strikes, and inadequate leadership.

Tony Ezeagwu, the chairman of the LP in Delta State, told journalists that the demonstration, which he called the "Mother of All Rallies," was organized by party-supporting organizations.

The party chairman advised them not to lose faith in the nation, saying that Nigerians and Nigeria were prepared for real change.

Supporters of CALABAR gathered at the 11-11 Roundabout before marching through the city's streets while yelling, "Freedom has finally come." "Youths, take advantage of this divine opportunity and elect Mr Peter Obi," "Our time is running out." We are taking this action for your benefit. You had better get up, use the opportunity, and break free from the cabals and dishonest politicians.

Ogar Osim, the state Labour Party chairman, told reporters that they had expected only two million people to attend the procession in favour of Peter Obi's candidacy, but that number was greatly exceeded.

This is a warning to other parties that appear to underestimate our power. You can tell that Nigerians are sick and weary of other parties using our shared successes for their selfish ends.

You can tell that Nigerians are suddenly supporting Peter Obi and the Labour Party.

According to Mr Etom Ofem, the state coordinator of Peter Obi Integrity Network for Transformation (POINT), his support organization has over 5,000 members who have travelled from all over the state to participate in the march.

He claims that more than 90% of members have PVCs, and the significant number will undoubtedly translate into votes in the general elections of 2023.
